Welcome to The Phoenix Guest House, Inc.: A start-up, 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our mission is to provide free, temporary lodging for commuting adult cancer outpatients and their caregivers....In short, to provide a 'home away from home'.

Cancer is a devastating disease which affects everyone, not just the patient. Coping with the physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, and financial stresses of cancer is overwhelming. Carolyn J. Mayer, M.A., President/Founder, The Phoenix Guest House, Inc., knows this truth first-hand. She is a cancer survivor.

We all look forward to the day when a cure for cancer is found. However, until that long-awaited day arrives, The Phoenix Guest House, Inc.'s mission is to provide resources (free, temporary lodging for commuting adult cancer outpatients/caregivers, including patient advocacy) which will help alleviate the burdens experienced by cancer patients, on their journeys to wellness.

According to mythology, the phoenix, a colorful bird possessing a beautiful song, remains immortal by entering its nest, setting itself on fire, every 500 years; then, perpetually rises to a new life, born of its own ashes. The Phoenix Guest House, Inc. exists to provide a 'Nest of Comfort with a Window of Care', from which renewed, colorful lives rise from the ashes of cancer, to continue their beautiful songs.

The Phoenix Guest House, Inc.'s projected annual budget calls for $550,000., to cover our expenses, including, but not limited to: 1.) shelter costs/mortgage payments; 2.) facility furnishings; 3.) patient-caregiver related expenses, as food, transportation, as well as various amenities; 4.) administrative costs, including staff's salaries/wages, insurance, fund-raising expenses, advertising/marketing costs, et.al. relevant costs.
Please help us realize our 501 (c) (3) nonprofit mission, by DONATING funds to us, so that our commuting adult cancer outpatients and their caregivers will not have to bear the major costs incurred from commuting to and from cancer hospitals/oncology clinics, for their outpatient treatments, as: chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgery, stem cell transplants, et.al. therapies/treatment modalities.
Cancer is a catastrophic illness...Not only can cancer be life-threatening, its related costs can be astronomical! Therefore...
Please GIVE freely, so that our future commuting, frail adult cancer outpatients (accompanied by their caregivers), can receive their treatments, where they will have the best chances for survival; and, won't have to worry about, whether or not, they will be forced to sleep in the hospital lobby's chairs; or, rest/sleep in their cars; and/or, be forced to make sometimes long, oftentimes painful, exhausting drives to and from treatment....due to lack of funds.
